Rick Harray is a landscape photographer who lives and works out of Prescott, Arizona. He grew up in California and became an avid landscape photographer of the great places in California as well as the western states, especially the Four Corners area of Utah, Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico. To pursue a whole new chapter in photography, he now resides and works from his home in Prescott, Arizona. Rick produces fine art photographs printed mainly on canvas by skilled professional printers. There are owners of his photos in many of the states as well as countries such as France, Britain, Germany, Ireland, Japan and China. Buyers include professional photographers, businesses for their publications, offices and real estate projects. These images are on display in public buildings and are in a collection at U.C. Merced. Rick also does custom outdoor photo shoots for landowners, cattle ranchers, organization meetings, retreats and events.
Studies include workshops and trips with nationally recognized professional photographers as well as taking training with the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP). A Note From Rick ... "When you start at dawn, beginning at six years of age, following a grandfather who has a detailed map of Yosemite in his head and go out onto lake Tenaya in his canoe or traipse across Tuolumne Meadows to fish the river or climb up to Cathedral Lakes to spend the day, you never lose the wonder and awe of the Sierra. That lifting of the spirit has led me to see many wonders of this incredible country. It has never failed to thrill me to be in wild places with boots on the ground, a tripod on my shoulder and a bag of cameras on my back seeking to make photographs artful enough to convey that experience. If I can grasp even a glimpse of the essential quality of the wilderness and share those unique images with others that the art of photography stays in a moment of time, then my time has been well spent. I am also fascinated with the scenes which my eyes cannot capture such as nighttime , black and white, high speed objects and macro views. I strive to take real photos of natural places and commit to printing an accurate replication of the scene as I saw it and experienced it. I do all the processing of each image including proof printing before I submit it to trusted professionals who can render my vision on canvas. The ultimate reward of this pursuit happens when one of these images gives another person a sense of the deeply resonating wonder of natural beauty."
